One Planet - Ned Hybrid Pack
Notify me when back in stock
It’s Aussie, at home in the bush and on the road, and just about bulletproof — what else were we going to call it? This one just keeps on going, and the only shot you will receive is a compliment in passing.
Waterloc canvas and canvas binding are Ned’s weatherproof armour, at a fraction of the weight of iron. Eight harness fits and three back lengths make the Exact Fit harness comfortable under even the heaviest loads, and the strong front clips allow compression and the attachment of an optional daypack. (See the daypacks for further details.) With two water-bottle pockets and a lockable opening, Ned is as comfortable on the blacktop as in the bush.

Robust, Functional, Quality ProductBy: Tom on 8 February 2015I bought this pack in 2013 for a 2 month walk in Turkey and also some light travel across the Mediterranean. As a dual purpose bag it serves well; can be used as a duffel bag or a fairly serious trek pack. It suits me well because I am a traveler who occasionally likes to trek. Things that really impressed me: The materials and workmanship are superb. The canvas material is very strong and very abrasion resistant. I used this bag on the Lycian Way in Sth Turkey; parts of the trail are arid coastline with sometimes dense growths of spiny or prickly shrubs; there is little visible abrasion damage on my pack. I cannot vouch for the water resistance/proof of the bag because it has not yet been used in rain. Main zipper is very heavy duty and works well; in coastal marine environments I rub candle wax on the inside and outside of the zipper, along the whole length for protection from salt corrosion. The outside and inside compression straps are strong and very easy to use. The top pocket is very small and its zip a bit flimsy, however it was ok for a few small items such as booklets, phones, etc. The harness is awesome in workmanship and comfort; but before purchase, seriously measure yourself for the correct size of the pack and follow the instructions. A zippered fly conceals the harness when not trekking, keeping the harness clean and less likely to be damaged in airport transit. Two side grab handles are comfortable and useful when walking in airports etc. I do not regret purchasing this backpack and recommend it to anyone who wants to have a serious comfortable pack/travel bag which I think will last many years.
